Brickell to Wynwood: Best Routes and Stops in a Luxury Car

Brickell to Wynwood is one of the most photographed drives in Miami for a reason. Two miles of skyline, two distinctly different neighborhood textures, and a route that lets a luxury car earn its keep. Here is how to make the most of it: the route, the stops, the parking, and the photo spots that have become the Miami signature.

The route

Direct route: Brickell Avenue north to Biscayne Boulevard, west on NE 14th Street to NW 2nd Avenue, then north into the heart of Wynwood. Roughly two miles, fifteen minutes in light traffic, longer at peak.

The scenic alternative: Brickell Avenue north, then east on SE 8th Street to South Bayshore Drive, north along the bay through Bayfront Park, west on NE 5th Street to NW 1st Avenue, then north. Adds about ten minutes but trades skyline views for more interesting driving.

Stops along the way

If you have time, two stops worth building in:

  • Bayfront Park - quick stop for skyline photography. The PortMiami cruise ships in the background and the Bayfront skyline frame work well for car-and-scenery photos.
  • Brickell City Centre area - if you want a coffee or quick bite before the drive, the courtyards around Brickell City Centre are car-friendly and photographable.

What to do in Wynwood

Wynwood is built around the gallery district and the murals. The Wynwood Walls (NW 2nd Avenue at NW 26th Street) are the most-photographed backdrop in Miami and arguably the most-photographed wall in the country. The walls rotate with new artist installations regularly, so the backdrop changes throughout the year.

Beyond the Walls, the Wynwood blocks between NW 24th and NW 28th Streets are dense with smaller murals, galleries, breweries, and food. Park once and walk, or move slowly with the car for content.

Best photo spots

For luxury car content in Wynwood, the most-used backdrops:

  • NW 25th Street between NW 2nd and NW 3rd Avenue - the strip of large walls. Wide enough for car positioning, and the murals rotate regularly.
  • The Wynwood Walls courtyard - photography permits required for paid shoots; informal car-and-photo OK.
  • NW 26th Street near NW 5th Avenue - quieter blocks, less foot traffic, often easier for actual driving photography.

For the Brickell side: the bayfront stretch of South Bayshore Drive at sunset, the Brickell skyline visible from Bayfront Park, and the elevated views from the Brickell Key bridge.

Where to eat in Wynwood

The Wynwood food scene leans casual-cool. Most-picked for groups arriving in luxury cars:

  • Beaker and Gray - new American small plates. Cocktail-forward, photographable space.
  • KYU - Asian-influenced wood fire. The Miami foodie standard.
  • Coyo Taco - the casual taco spot with a hidden cocktail bar in the back. High volume, fast turn.
  • Zak the Baker - daytime spot for breakfast and lunch. Photography-friendly courtyard.

For nightlife after dinner: the Wynwood blocks have transformed into a proper bar district over the past few years. Wood Tavern, J. Wakefield Brewing, The Anderson, plus the rotating popups along NW 24th Street.

Parking notes

Wynwood parking is a real consideration for low-clearance supercars. The street parking has steep curbs and tight spots that risk front splitter damage on Lamborghinis, McLarens, and Aston Martins. Better options:

  • The Wynwood Walls paid surface lot has wider spaces and gentler approach angles.
  • The Wynwood Garage on NW 24th Street is covered and has a generous ramp.
  • For SUVs (G-Wagon, Cullinan, Bentayga, Urus), street parking is fine when available.

For the Brickell side: tower garages at Brickell City Centre, Mary Brickell Village, and the major condos all accommodate luxury vehicles without issues, though clearances vary by building.

Time of day

Best driving conditions: 10 AM to 12 PM (post-rush, pre-lunch), or after 8 PM (post-dinner traffic). Avoid 7-9 AM and 5-7 PM unless you enjoy slow driving.

Best photography light: golden hour, which in Miami means roughly 6 PM in summer and 5 PM in winter. The Wynwood walls face mixed directions, so the lighting changes by mural.

What luxury cars do best on this route

Convertibles win here. Lamborghini Huracan EVO Spyder and McLaren 650S Spider both let you take the route top-down, which is the right way to do Wynwood. SUVs do well for groups (G-Wagon, Cullinan, Bentayga, Urus). Coupes and sedans are fine but get less out of the route than the alternatives.
